VOLUNTEER CHORUS (2015) is a piece for 5 or more performers. Each performer intones the contents of their Facebook ticker feed according to a set of instructions. The piece can function in concert or as an installation. Performances have ranged in duration between 30 minutes and 7 hours.

I first developed the piece in workshops with students of my free improvisation class at Brunel University London, as well as with students of the Hochschule der Künste Bern, Switzerland and am grateful to those students who gave their time, including Michelle De Jong, Kristijonas Dirse, Ardeshir Gourtani, Robert Jones, Ursula Philpott and James Radcliffe.

VOLUNTEER CHORUS has been performed at SPOR Festival, Denmark; Cafe Oto, London, UK; the Inter Arts Centre, Malmö, Sweden; the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia and Project Arts Centre, Ireland.
