four: dark splotchy white

idiom
It’s night and dark. Out in the middle of bloody nowhere, the cold is becoming very biting and the wind is whipping up. Everything is dirty dark-white and black with blotches of jet green in it. It’s becoming difficult to see anything, just different-size snow-flakes blowing in all directions at the same time. Occasionally there’s a lull, but not so often. Sometimes you think you can hear a voice in the storm, in the wind, like perhaps the car turning the corner is the one you’re waiting for, but it always recedes, always drives past you in the wet sound.

violin sounds

Prepare violin by inserting a business card between the strings. The card should be threaded over III and II and under IV and I. The card should be positioned so it is half over the fingerboard, half off.

1. Long bows on the strings, both the outer and card-covered inner, bow positioned in the centre of the card. Different levels of pressure.

3. [ s ] s as in vision – dirty sound with interference

4. [ wa ] wa as in wall. Try to get a hollow harmonic (lips form a small “o”)

5. [ m ] [ n ] Clench nostrils, amplify the air coming through them.
